The 2016 graduates of the Lake Michigan College Nursing program – 47 in total – all had jobs within three months of graduation. These and other statistics have been released by the college in the 2016 Nursing Program Outcome report.
Nursing Program Director Kathleen Szymanski said, “We are so proud to demonstrate the success and satisfaction of graduates of the Nursing Program. These numbers speak to both our terrific students, as well as the skill and dedication of our nursing faculty and clinical partners.”
Another important statistic about the health of the Nursing program is the graduates’ pass rate for the National Nursing Licensure Exam (NCLEX): 93% of LMC Nursing 2016 graduates passed the exam the first time they took it. The national first-time average is 85% for students coming out of all US programs.
Notable program outcomes include:
- Job placement within three months of graduation (May 1, 2016-August 1, 2016): 100%
- First-time NCLEX pass rate for 2016 graduates (from May 1, 2016- May 1, 2017): 93%
- Graduate Satisfaction for the 2016 graduates based upon surveys sent in March 2017 (72% response rate from the 2016 graduates): 4.47 out of five, with 5 indicating the highest level of satisfaction with the program
- Employer Satisfaction with the 2016 graduates based upon surveys sent in March 2017 (83% response rate from employers): 4.52 out of 5 on a 5 point Likert scale, with 5 indicating the highest level of satisfaction with the program graduates
- Continued Education: 44% of the 2016 graduates are currently enrolled in an RN-BSN or RN-MSN program.
