Alumni Service Award: Gloria Ender
Gloria Ender is president of Freedom Finishing in Benton Harbor. In 2001, Freedom Finishing was in danger of closing its doors due to overseas competition and the economic downturn after September 11. Through her perseverance, Gloria led her company back to prosperity and expansion. Her success has been acknowledged for four consecutive years by Cornerstone Chamber Services with several business awards.
In the community, Gloria uses her fluency in English and Spanish as an on-call volunteer translator with local hospitals and the Benton Township Police Department. She also assists the Hispanic community through Telemon Corporation and works with various organizations to distribute food and clothing to families in need. Gloria is secretary of the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and has been part of past Winner’s Circle Auctions and the LMC Hispanic Advisory Committee.
Gloria graduated in 1990 from LMC with an Associate in Arts degree and holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University – South Bend.
Gloria Ender received an Alumni Service Award in 2006.
