Clarence Beckwith Distinguished Alumni Award: Gyl Kasewurm
Dr. Gyl Kasewurm owns and operates one of the top audiology practices in the country. Professional Hearing Services, Ltd. is renowned for being a leader in service and technology. A national presenter and speaker on successful business, marketing and customer service practices, Gyl developed the world’s first virtual hearing center in 2003.
After attending LMC, she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Andrews University, a Master of Arts from Western Michigan University and an Au.D. from Central Michigan University.
Her professional success has been widely recognized. The American Academy of Audiology honored her with its 2007 Distinguished Achievement Award. She is also active in numerous professional and community organizations. In 2005, Governor Jennifer Granholm appointed her to the first State Audiology Licensing Board. A
member of the American Academy of Audiology Foundation board and the Lakeland Health Foundation board, she is a former member of the LMC Foundation board. She has also participated in international and domestic missions to benefit children with hearing loss.
Gyl Kasewurm received the Clarence Beckwith Distinguished Alumni Award in 2008.
