Greetings from President Kubatzke
LMC is in the final phases of a $44 million campus renovation and by spring our students will be enjoying a new state-of-the-art learning environment.
While we’ve been transforming our physical spaces, we’ve also been working on what matters most — improving how we serve our communities.
The college community recently went through a process to update our mission statement and guiding principles. After careful deliberation, we unified around the following statement:
“Together we empower people and communities to thrive through education, innovation and experiences.”
This simple, yet powerful proclamation keeps us on track toward our goals of academic excellence, student success and community impact. Our nursing program is a shining example of how these three goals come together, and this year marks its 50th anniversary.
Anyone who lives in southwest Michigan has surely received quality care from an LMC alum. In the Fall 2019 issue of Current, we pay tribute to the generations of healthcare professionals who’ve devoted their careers to keeping us and our loved ones in good health.
Empowering people and communities to thrive keep us excited to come to work each day. Doing it together makes it possible. We look forward to another 50 years of being the premiere college in our region.
Sincerely,
Dr. Trevor A. Kubatzke,
President, Lake Michigan College
