Variety of summer arts workshops now accepting registrations

The Visual & Performing Arts Department at Lake Michigan College is offering a variety of arts education opportunities this summer for students as young as 8-years-old to adults at the Mendel Center on the Benton Harbor campus.

LMC will hold its Musical Theatre Intensive, in partnership with Children’s Musical Workshop, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. July 27-31, a new Visual & Performing Arts Camp from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Aug. 3-7, and, in conjunction with LMC’s Fab Lab, a Make Your Own Instrument Camp from 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 3-6, and Ukulele Camp from 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 10-12.

Students interested in the Musical Theatre Intensive, formerly CMW University, must complete a pre-assessment of their skill levels at 6 p.m. July 13 in Mendel Center F125 or by video submission.

Program costs range from $109-$200. Some scholarships are available. For full descriptions and registration, please visit www.lakemichigancollege.edu/camps.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, LMC’s Summer Choir program and its TeenStock production with CMW has been canceled this year. Please look for these opportunities to return in 2021.
Social distancing protocols will be in place throughout the summer. It may also become necessary to alter program dates. If program dates do change and those registered cannot participate, or programs are canceled, refunds will be granted.
