Current and prospective students can also access a copy of the current Medical Assisting Student Handbook, which includes program policies and additional information about enrollment requirements, occupational risks, clinical compliance, credentialing, technical standards, and more. Upon completion of the 62 total credits (42 - MEDA + 20 Gen. Eds.) students may apply for an associate in Applied Science degree.

All students in the Medical Assisting program are required to pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to participating in the  Medical Assisting program courses. 

Students must also complete a physical exam and provide proof of the following:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) vaccination
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) vaccination
  • Varicella vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination
  • COVID-19 vaccination
  • Annual TB testing (PPD skin test or blood test accepted)
  • Annual influenza vaccination
