Join the healthcare industry and support patient care with expertise in medical assisting. The Lake Michigan College Medical Assisting program prepares students for highly skilled, entry-level positions as medical assistants in the health care industry. It covers clinical procedures and administrative tasks, preparing students for careers as medical assistants in various healthcare settings. Upon program completion, students are eligible to take the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) examination offered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) examination offered by the American Medical Technologists (AMT).

Upon completion of the 62 total credits (42 - MEDA + 20 Gen. Eds.) students may apply for an associate in Applied Science degree.
All students in the Medical Assisting program are required to pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to participating in the Medical Assisting program courses.
