Drop-In Advising Hours will be January 6th - January 21st from 9am - 4pm at the Benton Harbor Campus and the South Haven Campus. Advisors will be available to meet with students on a first-come, first-serve basis and NO APPOINTMENTS will be available if you are trying to schedule through the Advising Appointment Scheduler. We will also have Virtual Drop-In Advising during this same time through our Zoom information here.

Transferring to LMC from another institution? Having your official transcripts on file and evaluated before your advising appointment will ensure the most productive conversation with your advisor about what requirements are completed, outstanding, and allow you to register for classes during your initial meeting.

Academic Advisors are available on all campuses to help you explore, plan, and achieve your education and career goals.

Prospective Students

Academic advisors are here to help you explore career and program options for your time at Lake Michigan College and after. If you are a New Student in the Spring or Summer and have not yet completed our online orientation please complete that before you meet with your advisor. If you have not yet completed an Admissions Application, please have that done along with any high school or college transcripts you may have submitted before your meeting. If you are a New Student in Fall, please continue to check your email for more information on how to register for a New Student Orientation Session over the summer. You can find more information on New Student Orientation here.

If you are a Current Student, we suggest meeting with your advisor at least once a year depending on the plan you establish in your initial meeting. If you are planning on Adding/Dropping a course, Withdrawing from a course, or Registering for a class outside of the plan we have set up or the degree requirements for the major listed in your DegreeWorks Audit, please make an appointment with your advisor by logging into Student Profile and clicking Advising Appointment Scheduler or by following this link. New Students

If you are a new student starting classes in the Spring, you will need to sign up for mandatory orientation here where you will have the opportunity to meet with your advisor and talk about classes.

Current Students

As a current Lake Michigan College student, you are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor prior to each semester and anytime you have questions.
