All Lake Michigan College (the College) employees, students and visitors have a right to safe and appropriate restroom and locker room facilities, including the right to use facilities that correspond to their gender identity, regardless of sex assigned at birth.

College employees, students and visitors shall have access to the restroom corresponding to their gender identity. Any individual who has a need or desire for increased privacy, regardless of the underlying reason, will be provided access to single-occupancy, gender-neutral (unisex) restroom facilities and to multiple-occupant, gender-specific restroom facilities with lockable single occupant stalls, where possible.

The College has taken steps to provide for additional privacy in its locker rooms for any individual who values increased privacy.

All College employees, students and guests have the right to use the locker room that corresponds to their gender identity. Any individual who has a need or desire for increased privacy, regardless of the underlying reason, can be provided with a reasonable alternative changing area such as the use of a private area, or using the locker room that corresponds to their gender identity before or after other users.

Any College employee, student or visitor may choose to use these options, but no one shall be required to.
