At Lake Michigan College, Academic Departments will adopt textbooks for use in credit classes. Textbooks will be reviewed periodically based on recommendations from the faculty, and the bookstore will alert faculty when new editions are published.

The approved textbook will be used to complete the course for which the textbook is adopted. When there are multiple sections of the same course, an effort will be made to adopt the same textbook for all sections.

The procedure and timeline of textbook adoption will be initiated by the bookstore with the approval of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Unless deemed extremely necessary due to unforeseen circumstances, textbook adoptions must be finalized and not altered within 60 days prior to the start of the semester.
