Calling all students, singers, actors, staff, faculty, and community members! Lake Michigan College’s Visual & Performing Arts Department is holding auditions for its Spring musical, “Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” from 5-9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24 and Tuesday, Jan. 25 in Deckmann Studio, Mendel Center, on LMC’s Benton Harbor campus.
Bring a resume and a photo and prepare to sing 16-32 bars of a song from, or in the style of, the musical, and perform a short monologue from the audition packet. Sign up for an audition time and download an audition packet at lakemichigancollege.edu/spring-audition. Audition packets are also available in LMC’s VPA office.
Rehearsals begin Sunday, Jan. 30. Performances are April 7-9. To participate, proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required or weekly testing with approved exemptions.
The musical features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler from an adaptation by Christopher Bond. Paul Mow directs.
