LMC joins SMC, St. Joseph High School choirs for 'In Remembrance: Songs of Reflection and Nostalgia'

LMC Concert Choir and LMC Vocal Chamber, each under the direction of Rebecca Derbas-Selvidge, will join other local choirs for an evening of music dedicated to the times, places, and people that impact the human experience.

"In Remembrance: Songs of Reflection and Nostalgia" features the Lake Michigan College Choirs, St. Joseph High School Choirs conducted by Elizabeth Gray-Roll, St. Joseph High School Chamber Orchestra conducted by Burke Lokey, and Southwestern Michigan College Choirs conducted by David Carew.

Two performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at St Joseph High School Auditorium, 2521 Stadium Dr, St Joseph, Mich., and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, in the theatre in the Dale A. Lyons Building on SMC's Dowagiac campus, 58900 Cherry Grove Rd.

LMC Concert Choir will perform “If Music Be the Food of Love” by David Dickau, and “More I Cannot Wish for You,” arranged by Steve Zegree. LMC Vocal Chamber selections are “Lost Love” by Paul Sjolund, “And So It Goes” arranged by Chilcott, and “The Days of Wine and Roses” arranged by Steve Zegree. Chorllennium, a semi-professional choral group, will perform “I’m Going Away” arranged by Mack Wilberg, and “Great God A’ Mighty” arranged by Stacy V. Gibbs.

The evening culminates with a performance of the Fauré Requiem performed by all the choirs and the chamber orchestra. Admission for each performance is free.
