LMC’s Marketing team strikes gold at Medallion Awards
Lake Michigan College's Marketing & Communications Department earned top honors at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations District 3 Conference held Sept. 28-30 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago.
LMC received seven Medallion Awards, five Gold and two Bronze, at the annual event presented by NCMPR's District 3, which includes community, technical and junior colleges in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, and the Canadian province of Ontario.
"I am so proud of the work this team does every single day to promote and support our programs, students, prospective students, faculty, staff, and alumni," LMC's Executive Director of Marketing & Communications Jennifer Shoemaker said. "It's an honor being recognized by our peers for our efforts to showcase all that LMC offers to our community."
LMC's revamped entryway, celebrating the College's 75th anniversary with a series of historic photos and graphics by decade, earned a Gold Medallion in the interior signage and display category.
Other Gold Medallion winners were LMC's 2022 Viewbook, its series of brochures highlighting areas of study such as Manufacturing & Technology and Health Sciences, the postcard series touting LMC Promise, and the 2022 Commencement invitation.
LMC also earned a Bronze for the 2022 Commencement program and a Bronze in the long-form writing category for a story about the impact Michigan's Reconnect program had on students such as LMC's Marcheta Beal.
In addition to Shoemaker, LMC's Marketing team includes Marketing Communications Specialist Jeremy D. Bonfiglio, Marketing & Communications Administrative Assistant Tina Gourlay, Digital Communications Specialist Jennifer Jacobs, Visual Brand Design Specialist Michael Johnson, and Multimedia Marketing Coordinator Holly Ward.
The NCMPR Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication in each of NCMPR's seven districts. The regional competition is exclusive to marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.
