Education on your time

Online classes from Lake Michigan College allow you to attend class from your home, office, or anywhere you have access to a computer and high-speed internet service.

What is Distance Education?

Distance Education is any course in which at least 75% of the course is delivered online. Below are the five types of course delivery methods:

Face-to-Face**

All course sessions are held at scheduled times and meet in person.

Flexible Learning Environment (FLE)**

Choose to attend each scheduled course session in-person or remotely via Zoom or watch recorded course sessions online.

Hybrid**

Courses may include a combination of face-to-face, online, and/or remote instruction. Some course sessions are at scheduled times..

Online

Complete the course entirely online with no scheduled course sessions required.

Remote

All course sessions are held at scheduled times and meet remotely via Zoom.

Academic advising is available to all students from 8am-7pm Monday- Thursday and 8am-5pm on Friday. Students participating in online or hybrid classes can access Academic Advising by phone appointments and email. Distance education students new to Lake Michigan College are encouraged to schedule a phone appointment to get started.
